I was tentative about using an in-home valuation service but really dislike leaving valuable items at jewellery shops for weeks on end. I'm so glad I used Julian instead. Being able to sit and watch as items are valued is not only fascinating but really helps you understand exactly what is going on. I learned so much during the process and Julian is so knowledgeable. He takes time to explain why items are valued the way they are and I can honestly say it was a very enjoyable morning. The final report came through quickly and was also accompanied by a hardcover book version. Very high quality service and will definitely be using Julian's services again in the future.

Trustworthy and Professional

I had my engagement ring valuated for insurance purposes. I was nervous about this process because the ring is quite rare and valuable and I didn''t know anyone in the jewellery business - so felt no sense of trust. Julian immediately made me feel safe/secure about having the ring valuated because of both his methods and his manner. He assured me I did not have to remove the diamond from the setting AND that he would come to me, rather me leaving the ring with him - so the ring was never out of my sight. I found this SO reassuring and comforting.

When Julian came to me to value the ring, he was incredibly knowledgeable about both the setting and the diamond. He did all of the measurements and photographs right at my dining room table! I didn't have to go anywhere or do anything!! Once he had what he needed, he explained the next steps - then went off and did FURTHER RESEARCH on my ring. When he was done, he sent a PDF report of my valuation and I felt everything had been done with upmost knowledge ' professionalism. I was quite happy with the whole process.
About a week later, I received a beautiful, hard-bound copy of my valuation report from Juian. What an incredible finishing touch to an already wonderful experience. I recommend Julian to anyone who is need of valuation of their jewellery.

Prompt & Professional Service

Julian valued five rings of differing types and provide a prompt and professional service, clearly very knowledgeable. We were concerned about having the valuations undertaken due to covid-19 restrictions but Julian complied with all our requests, as a result we felt very safe and were impressed with his service.

Very Detailed, Professional and Well Presented

The jewellery had been purchased over a number of years and had been periodically re valued for insurance purposes. The last full valuation was done in 2008. Numerous items have been added since then and with this years valuables insurance due for renewal I decided it was time to get the collection revalued. A current valuation from a recognised valuer (within five years) being a requirement of most companies.

Having spoken with Julian on the phone and described the the collection. Which consisted of Rings, necklaces, bracelets and watches we agreed a visit to my house and proceeded on his day rate tariff.

I presented him with the jewellery and supporting documentation that I had. He examined each piece very carefully assessing carefully size,weight, clarity etc. Then photographed each piece. He spent most of the day at my house. On leaving he said that he would be back in touch with the report in 5 days. True to his word I got a call to say the report was ready. I opted to have a digital file (password protected) in addition to a hard copy.

Very pleased with the detail of the report and its professional presentation. The report has been has enabled me to change providers for our Jewellery cover.
