About this Appraiser
Yantz Bradbury Associates is an independent jewelry and watch appraisal service headed by Sherlene Y. Bradbury, a GIA Graduate Gemologist-in-Residence (1982) and Certified Master Appraiser with the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers with retail and appraisal experience dating back to 1979. After acquiring sales experience in antique, estate and fine modern jewelry, she retired from retail and along with her husband and fellow Graduate Gemologist, Robbie Bradbury, they opened the appraisal service in 2003. Today, she brings an extensive background in insurance, estate, fair market and liquidation appraising and caters to private clients and exclusive, independent retailers in Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania. She also has the Global Investigative Services Background Check Cleared Badge.
Your Appraisal Appointment
Her office is conveniently located in Rockville, MD near major highways and the Metro. With few exceptions, you will leave with the appraisal documents.
All items will be checked for condition and cleaned, examined and tested as needed for identification, photographed, fully documented with measurements, estimated weights, quality and metal content noted. Any supporting laboratory reports will be verified and matched to your stones and if deemed accurate, will be recorded. Depending on the type of appraisal needed, current or secondary markets will be researched. You have the option of waiting for one or two items or leaving and picking up later that same day for larger collections. This will be discussed at the appointment.

Sherlene does not buy or sell jewelry so her opinions are without bias and based on independent market research. She is available for pre-purchase consultations to better equip you when buying jewelry. While not advocating for any particular seller, she can educate you on how to shop ensuring that you get exactly what you want thereby mitigating buyer’s remorse. She is a speaker on various jewelry-related topics in the DC metro area.

I had the opportunity to meet Sherlene and Robbie Bradbury to appraise a pair of diamond earrings I inherited from mom in 1985. Top-of-the-line Jewelry Appraiser
Needed to have five pieces of jewelry appraised for insurance replacement value (diamond rings, antique gold bracelets, necklace). Sherlene is a delightful and professional jewelry appraiser. She did the appraisals without any delays and it was a pleasure to observe her work. She appears to have the latest technical equipment...and the appraisal that I walked out with, was quite a document. Would highly recommend her without any hesitation whatsoever. Extremely Thorough Appraisal
I just wanted to thank Sherlene for taking the time to do such a thorough appraisal on my engagement ring, which was an old diamond that I received from my mother. I have had appraisals done in the past, however her technology was something that I had never seen before, and the experience was both informative and educational. I left with pictures that will distinguish my diamond with it's markings, as well as all the information about the diamond for myself and the insurance company. I will refer my friends and relatives to Sherlene in the future.
