Graduate Gemologist Larry Azose GG(GIA). is the Principal of Gem Consulting Services LLC based in Seattle and offers while you wait jewelry appraisals and other jewelry-related services at his Downtown office.

Appraisals

An insurance replacement appraisal is the most frequently requested valuation type. It represents the replacement cost of an item should it be lost, stolen or damaged. GCS insurance appraisals are available for jewelry of all periods (modern, vintage, antique etc).

All diamonds, pearls and colored gemstones are carefully examined to establish identity and then graded to allow a valuation to be carried out. Your precious items' detailed description and thoroughly researched values are produced on laminated documentation and presented in a special folder.

Other appraisal types are performed with the same attention to detail. They are, of course, USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant. The most frequently requested assessments include:

• Estate (to establish the level of Inheritance Tax or to assist Equitable Distribution)
• Divorce Settlement
• Charitable Donation

Consultations

Verbal and formal written consultations are held at Larry's office and laboratory. The purpose of a session can include litigation support, advice regarding a proposed sale of assets, confirmation of the quality and value for money of a recent purchase, gemological advice (gem identification and quality assessment) or perhaps damage assessment.
