I have a gold necklace given to me that is quite interesting. I am curious to know the value and the carat of the gold. I found Darlene's name on ISA and contacted her. During my dealing with her on the phone and in person I found her very knowledgeable. She is very thorough in her inspection of the item and so with her report.She is a pleasure to work with.

Impeccable

I had a diamond pearl bracelet, a family heirloom gifted to me by my late mother, which required insurance and liquidation appraisals for probate purposes. Darlene of Brilliant Evaluations and Appraisals did a brilliant job. From our initial phone conversation, then in-person meeting, and through to report delivery and making some minor final edits I requested, she was an absolute delight to work with. Her friendliness, sensitivity to my needs, and thorough research was much appreciated. Also from reading some other reviews I knew her reports would be detailed and I was not disappointed. The whole experience with Darlene was wonderful, I was very impressed.

Excellence

For insurance purposes I required an updated appraisal of a diamond earring. After checking out Darlene's website with a follow up phone call I decided to make an appointment. Within 24 hours Darlene delivered a multi page appraisal, that included a comprehensive description of the diamond and replacement cost. This was by far a most thorough jewellery appraisal, far surpassing, in quality, the 5 line write ups I have paid for in the past. There is no question I will use Darlene again as I found her pleasant attitude, professionalism and competency to be a cut above anyone I have used previously.

Probate Appraisal

Darlene first helped me arrive at an estimated value of a vary large collection of opals that formed part of an estate. This valuation was required in order that probate fees could be computed by the court. Darlene was very helpful in explaining the alternative approaches to value the collection, the potential markets for liquidating the collection, and clearly communicating the reasons behind the estimate she presented.

The purpose of Darlene’s work was to come up with an overall value for the collection (and not valuations for each individual stone). Darlene very efficiently arrived at a well-supported estimate that was included in the probate filings and was accepted by the court.

Subsequently, Darlene helped me price opals and antique vestas & cigarette cases for sale by the estate. Again, she was efficient, and knowledgeable about the items and the market. She also was genuinely interested in the opals and collectibles. This interest was catching. Darlene is a pleasure to work with. I would recommend her to anyone needing appraisal services.

A Pleasure To Deal With

I first met Darlene in 2012 when she appraised my engagement and wedding rings. In 2013, I took a pair of diamond earrings to her for an appraisal. In February 2017, I needed to have my jewelry re-appraised for my new home insurance policy, so, of course, I went back to Darlene!

Darlene is knowledgeable, honest and delivers her reports when she promises. Darlene is the most thorough and detailed appraiser I've ever dealt with. I hope to get a diamond anniversary ring from my husband for our 5 year anniversary next year; if I do, I'll be taking it to Darlene.

I have used Brilliant Evaluations and Appraisals on several occasions and could not be happier with their service. What impresses me the most is the attention to detail and thoroughness provided with each evaluation. Most recently I had a trinity (3 stone) diamond ring evaluated for insurance purposes. A great amount of detail was given for each diamond (cut, color, clarity), in addition to precise measurements, mapping, etc. When I made an email inquiry regarding the report it was followed-up by a lengthy telephone consultation to ensure I understood every aspect.

It is very refreshing to deal with someone that is passionate about their work and is willing to take the time to educate their clients. I would not consider taking my jewelry to anyone other than Brilliant Evaluations for appraisal.

Detailed and Comprehensive

I contacted Darlene Wong at Brilliant Evaluations and Appraisals to appraise two early 19th century pocket watches that had been passed down to me from my grandparents. I found Darlene to be genuinely interested in all aspects of the jewelery during our meeting. She took the time to discuss how I came into the inheritance and to find out the history behind the watches.

The completed appraisal was detailed and comprehensive. Also included in her appraisal was background information on the T. E. Company where the watches were purchased from over 100 years ago. I would highly recommend Darlene to anyone requiring a competent and informative appraisal.

Thorough and professional

I was newly engaged and needed to have my ring insured. My ring was new and custom designed, so I wanted a professional valuation that was not affiliated with a jewellery store (as I have heard jeweller valuations can often be biased). When I arrived, Darlene was very professional and asked me about the history of my ring. I waited whilst she cleaned it and did the appraisal. After her inspection, she pointed out a minute chip in one of the jewels that she let me view through her microscope, it was barely visible but once I knew it was flawed I was concerned.
Since the ring was new she advised me to contact my designer, which I did promptly. The jewellery designer fixed the problem immediately and at no charge.

Darlene also sat down with me to offer advice on sizing and caring for my ring, which was extremely helpful. Her pricing was also very reasonable and gracious given her skill-set, qualifications the amount of time she took and work she put into providing me with a multipage appraisal. My insurance provider also expressed to me how impressed they were with the thoroughness of her appraisal.
I would definitely recommend her services to my friends and family should they ever need an appraisal.

Great Service and Value

I received a counterfeit Van Cleef & Arpels necklace, which an Ebay seller described as "authentic" in August 2016. In order to receive a full refund, Ebay customer service requested that I provide a credible document to support my claim. I contacted Darlene. She fully understood my needs; she was also well aware of the short deadline from Ebay customer service. After carefully examining the necklace, she sent me a complete evaluation report in only one day.
I received a full refund after submitting the report. I am very satisfied with Darlene's great service. I highly recommend Darlene.
When purchasing jewellery one cannot be too careful and the assurance offered by her professional appraisal is worth every dollar in piece of mind.

Do Not Go Anywhere Else

Darlene has to date saved me a very substantial sum by evaluating and confirming the purchase of one ring, and the evaluation of another. The latter, whilst convincing, was totally fraudulent. She was steadfast in recommending that I not purchase the ring in front of the seller.
