About this Appraiser
This full-service appraisal practice in Texas provides gemological and jewelry appraisal services to clients in the Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio areas from their offices in Bellaire TX. Many respected Jewelers throughout this area specifically refer their clients to Christine York Jewelry & Appraisals, LLC.
Christine York GG, ASA, MGA, established this company in 1985 and provides appraisals for jewelry, diamonds, colored gems and watches. Christine is one of only a very small number of Jewelry Appraisers who has earned the Master Gemologist Appraiser title from the ASA (American Society of Appraisers).
Christine has extensive experience in the appraisal and valuation of large diamonds and important colored gems. Government departments also rely on her expertise for concise, objective and accurate documentation. The FBI, the US Marshals Service, the DEA and other law enforcement agencies use her services and require all documentation to be USPAP compliant. You, as a private client, will receive an appraisal report to exactly the same standard.
Written appraisals are typically provided for Insurance Replacement, Estate and Liquidation purposes, but Trust Appraisals are increasingly being requested and this company is pleased to boast extensive experience in this type of jewelry appraisal and valuation. All reports are provided in a printed folder format and/or as a PDF file for your convenience. You will normally receive your completed report at the end of your appointment or within a few days if you opted to have Christine come to your home or office to carry out the work.
For those clients not requiring a written appraisal report, Christine offers a verbal assessment of your gem and diamond-set jewelry items. This provides a very cost effective method of obtaining the information that you need without the expense of the report writing procedures. Please be advised that in some instances an interested third party (e.g. an Insurance Company), will require a full printed report.
Please phone or email Christine to discuss your particular requirements by using the links at the top of this page.

Jewelry Report and Advice
Christine reviewed a number of women's jewelry items acquired by inheritance, gift, and direct purchase. Christine also provided me with a great deal of informal guidance on how to value and potentially dispose of many items that were not included in the report. I am very grateful for all the guidance. I had previously used Christine for my Mother's estate and had been very impressed by her knowledge and efficiency. The most significant item in the current report was a vintage 18Kt white gold diamond engagement ring with a center 1.36 ct. Old European cut diamond. I was extremely pleased with the report. Christine's fees are very modest for the quality of work and for the advice she delivers.
Expertise / Items Examined: My wife's antique engagement ring, various David Yurman and Lagos items.

Goofy Bought by Collector
It's been about 34 years! but I remember having Christine help me way back then. It was so many years ago and I'm not surprised to learn she's still highly regarded. I was barely out of my teens and had a (hopefully) collectible Helbros Goofy watch (the one that ran backward!). I wanted to sell it. It's wasn't worth a thousand dollars but it was a big deal to me. I was treated kindly and with respect and never felt my jewelry was insignificant or not worth her time. Christine found a buyer out of state and shipped it to them for review (constantly reassuring my nerves that this was a normal process). Soon she called me with the good news - it was purchased and the matter settled promptly!
Expertise / Items Examined: Helbros 1971 Disney Goofy Watch
