American Gemological Appraisals (AGA) is located within the QBC Jewelers building in Whittier and is owned and operated by Craig Sperling, RGA. Craig has over 43 years of professional appraisal experience in the jewelry and diamond trade. A same-day appraisal service is available from their NAJA Accredited Gem Lab in Whittier, without the need for an appointment. Your precious items are initially examined by the Gemologists and Appraisers, Craig Sperling or Guillermo Oliva, and the purpose and scope of your appraisal requirements are discussed and agreed before leaving your jewelry for a collection at a later time.

AGA also offers an on-site (home-visit) valuation service at your residence, office or law firm, throughout the Los Angeles area. Work can be carried out in your presence. This service is particularly appreciated by clients with very high value items or large collections, or customers who prefer the security and comfort of their own home.

Appraisal and valuation reports are provided for all types of fine jewelry, including antique, period and modern items of diamond and gem set jewelry. Assessments and valuations are also carried out on loose diamonds, colored gemstones, pearl items, coins and watches.
Appraisal documentation includes:
