About this Appraiser
Metro Jewelry Appraisers,LLC. is located in Sudbury, Greater Boston MA, and is one of New England’s leading jewelry appraisal service firms. Owned by Graduate Gemologist (GIA), Jeff Ira, Metro offers a wide range of expertise in diamonds, colored gems, jewelry, and watches for consumers, trust and estate professionals, attorneys, insurance companies and retail jewelers.
In most cases the Appraiser will assist you while you wait at their comfortable office. Normally you will leave with your completed appraisal documentation, which includes a detailed and accurate description of your jewelry, with diamond and colored gemstone grading results, images and of course the individual value of your items relative to the purpose of the appraisal. Complex items involving a large quantity of diamonds / gemstones or pieces requiring additional research will take a little longer.
Jewelry and gemstones are often some of the most sentimental possessions you own, and you may feel more comfortable having them appraised in your home, office or some other familiar secure location. MJA has a portable gem lab and can perform the same high standard professional appraisals at a location of your choice. Jeff also holds in-store appraisal events at respected jewelers throughout the Boston area. These jewelers understand the benefits of having a professional independent jewelry appraiser evaluate their client's fine jewelry. The resulting quality assessments and values are unbiased, accurate and exclusively based on research of market forces and activity.
Appraisals for all purposes are available, including: Retail replacement value for insurance purposes, estate, equitable distribution of assets, divorce settlement, pre / post-purchase appraisals and re-valuation of previous appraisals.
Jeff also carries out purchase verification assessments to authenticate, or reject, the quality claims made at the point of sale. Mostly this relates to jewelry and diamonds that have been bought from the internet, where the consumer wants their new purchase to undergo a quality inspection and verification that they have paid a fair price for the item.
Please use the contact links at the top of this page to contact Jeff for more information or book and appointment.
