About this Valuer
Susan Pennington is a Gemmologist and Fellow of the Institute of Registered Valuers and offers a high quality, confidential and speedy jewellery valuation and gem testing service. As a truly independent jewellery appraiser, who does not buy, broker or sell jewellery, you can be assured of an accurate and totally unbiased opinion of your jewellery, gemstones and diamonds.
The principal valuation service is performed at Susan's office and gemmological laboratory in Ormskirk, central to North West Lancashire which is within easy reach from Merseyside, Liverpool, Southport, Preston, Skelmersdale, Wigan and the Wirral. From here, the examination, appraisal and evaluation of your jewels are performed, after you have made an appointment, on a while-you-wait and same-day basis. Clients with a larger collection of jewellery can drop off their precious items and collect when the appraisal and valuation has been carried out. Ample, free parking is available at this location.
In some instances, a home-visit service is available. Susan will bring her mobile gem testing and diamond grading equipment to your home or office. Your report will follow in a few days once the research and report writing has been completed.
Appraisals for all purposes are available, including valuations for Insurance, Probate, Capital Gains or for Divorce Settlement/ Family Division purposes etc. Ms Pennington can also offer consultations on jewellery-related matters, including pre-litigation and post loss issues. Professional & Friendly Service
I had a previous probate valuation by a jeweller that I, nor my solicitor, was happy with. I found Mrs Pennington on JAW and gave her a call. I found her to be very friendly and helpful over the phone and decided to go along with the probate valuation with her. A lot of the jewellery was not valuable and I didn't have a clue what was worth anything or not. Thankfully Mrs Pennington checked and weighed everything individually and excluded anything that wasn't worth valuing. I made a return appointment the week later to pick up the jewellery and valuation and was impressed with the professional detailed report. I would definitely recommend Mrs Pennington.

Simply Outstanding
I was fortunate to be offered quite a few second hand pieces of jewellery during 2013/14 but wasn't entirely convinced about the insurance valuations provided by the local jeweller. I decided to look for a professional valuer and found Sue.
From the start the service was superb. Sue′s knowledge of gemstones and jewellery was endless and the valuations I had were detailed, informative and gave me the confidence to buy a lovely selection of jewellery.
The additional benefit of using Sue is that I now have a very comprehensive set of valuations for all my jewellery − I had all my jewellery catalogued and valued − and were I ever to lose anything, I know that I am covered for the correct values.
